Arctic
First person narratives and ephemera related to expeditions into the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions. Special emphasis is placed on expeditions that resulted in a body of work such as the search for Sir John Franklin, the Lady Franklin Bay Expedition under Lt. Adolphus Greely, Jeannette Expedition under George Washington Delong, Hudson's Bay, etc, and pre-19th Century exploration of the Arctic regions to include British, Russian, French, Dutch and Danish expeditions.
Antarctic
First person narratives and ephemera related to exploration of the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions. Special emphasis is placed on all listings in Michael Rosove's Antarctic Bibliography and encompassing publications from 1722 up to present day. Unique to Chet Ross Rare Books are books related to the Japanese Antarctic Expedition of 1910-1912 under the command of Lt. Nobu Shirase.
Polar Sciences
Many polar expeditions were centered on the concept of scientific research as they ventured into the last unexplored areas of our planet. As a result, there is an abundance of early scientific research related to the Polar Regions. Much of this published work is very significant simply by being the initial scientific research performed in its respective areas, and thus serves as a benchmark used in assessing changes over time.

Exploration outside of the polar regions to include the Pacific, Far East, Australia, South America, Natural History, etc. This section also contains titles that are of special interest to me but outside of exploration, travel and natural history. Several titles may also be on consignment and relate to modern first editions, children's books, applied design, or ephemeral.
